5. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS
5 . 1 I n t r o d u c t i o n . This section provides instructions for completion of
the SRS and references for instructions on specific requirements contained
in DOD-STD-35.
5 . 2 MSE formats. A E D P S has the capability to prepare a six-section or a
s i n g l e - s e c t i o n document. T h e six-section document appears similar to a
s i x - s e c t i o n m i l i t a r y s p e c i f i c a t i o n . T h e single-section document appears
similar to a military specification sheet. Specification requirements
d e s c r i b e d in DOD-STD-35 are applicable to either of the formats-selected.
I t is mandatory that one of the two following codes and an "X" be entered
o n the SRS to create the desired MSE format:
for a six-section format

5 . 3 Referenced documents. S e c t i o n 2 of the MSE may contain a list of all
r e f e r e n c e d documents within Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the MSE. Instructions
f o r referencing documents to appear in Section 2 of the forthcoming MSE are
contained in DOD-STD-35.
5 . 4 T a b u l a t i o n . I n s t r u c t i o n s for tabulation are provided in DOD-STD-35.
T a b l e II provides codes for column headings which may be used for Inductor
characteristics.
W h e n different units of measure within one system (U.S. or
SI) are available for specifying a characteristic, only one of the units may
be tabulated; e.g. either ounces or pounds.
